Have an Inside Look at Hollywood Strategies

Hot buttered popcorn. That's what most Hollywood producers want you to think about all year. They want you sitting in a movie theater watching their films. They have a strategy for summer films and work hard so all their kid-friendly movies are ready along with car-chase action films too. When children and young people are out of school, they will march right down to their local theater to see all the latest exciting films and gobble up lots of that hot buttered popcorn. This is exactly what the Hollywood moguls want.

They have a slightly different strategy for autumn. As cooler weather moves in, kids are back in school, and couples think of snuggling together in front of their Direct tv with the remote. Filmmakers have to lure them out of the house and into the theater. Movie makers know that just before the holiday celebrations, it is time to begin thinking about the Academy Awards. Their strategy in the fall is to put the most memorable films in theaters so they are fresh in everyone's minds. Producers don't expect their summer fun films to bring in an Oscar nomination. They save their most powerful films for the fall.

Right after all the exciting holiday celebrations when the presents have been unwrapped, the champagne corks have been thrown out, and people are beginning to think about Tax Day, they need something exciting to anticipate. Most film lovers can't wait to hear the nominations for the Academy Awards in January. They bet with friends about their favorite movies and actors: who will be nominated? They plan Oscar parties so they can gather around their Direct tv with friends and squeal with glee or groan in agony, depending on who wins.

That march down the red carpet is another moment of excitement when it is possible to see favorite actors and actresses all dressed up, or in some cases, not so much. Will there be a remarkably outrageous dress this year? Who remembers the dress made entirely out of credit cards? It is a night of excitement from beginning to end. Usually held on a Sunday night, that means that by Monday morning everyone who stayed up late will be at work, a little sleepy, but arguing about the big wins and losses.

All this excitement is anticipated by Hollywood producers. Their strategy all year has been for their latest blockbusters to hit the local theater just in time to make Oscar magic.
